Removing the thermostat 2001 classic
I ordered a new thermostat on Wednesday as mine has been playing up lately, unfortunately it is still not here and I have a 150 mile round trip tomorrow . I know it's not ideal running the engine from cold without a thermostat but I figure it is safer than having the old one not open and having the car overheat.
Also which is the easiest way to get to the thermostat?
cheers kot

Just pull the thermostat out for the time being, the housing is at the bottom of the block.
Follow the bottom rad pipe back to find it, two 10mm bolts hold the housing in place.

cheers, I have checked the thermostat and it seems to be working fine now. There is heat coming through the heater matrix and into the cabin but there seems to be no water flowing through the rad the temp guage is showing normal temp but when I stop the radiator fan comes and and is blowing cold air.
Think I will have to take the sh1troen tomorrow
