Which are the best wheel nuts
Hi All
I'm now gonna be on my forth set of wheel nuts
First set - Alloy covering all cracked. Second Set - The gold colour was disgusting and now my Third set of plain black ones have started to rust.
I've found two types I like on ebay, has anyone had experience with these and which ones are the best.
They're are to fit hawkeye wrx with Dare - ST Gold wheels.

D1 are pretty w@ank. I've got them on....seem to work themselves loose every now and again, and are really soft........which wouldn't matter if you only torqued them up once.

Rob, have you had them off and on a few times? Re-torqued?
They aren't bad, but IMO need maintenance, which I don't think wheels nuts should.
When I put my summer wheels back on, I'm going to get good nuts....which won't be the D1's.....

Got D1 one mine, been on for 2 years and never had any problems. As long as you torque them correctly then they are not a problem. Also had my wheels off and on a lot of times and they haven't worked loose ever.
As Chris has said they are very soft so if over torqued could split or you could damage the thread.

I have had a set of Volks Formula wheel nuts in the past and they are great, not cheap mind but there are sets for sale on eBay at the moment at a really good price as I have seen them for about £180 + delivery.

Just recently I had my wheels off. I just bought the car and it had some "funky coloured nuts"-starting to rust. The tire place races cars, in fact several cars and when not racing are in the workshop. he said the standard Subaru wheel nuts are best as they were designed to fit the wheel properly. Too "tubular" in design can fail if a torque wrench is not used and the nuts are suffering corrosion.
I'll be looking for some bog std ones.
