Default Alloy Exchange services

Hi

Has anyone used exchange services for alloys?

seen on ebay a deal where you pay a deposit of 216quid, they send out 4 refurbed alloys
you get your tyres swapped over etc, and then ship back your wheels in a prepayed courier service
when they get the alloys back you get your deposit back

seems abit good to be true o0

im waitin for some quotes, one came back at 45+vat a wheel
but thats by a mobile job
they said :

"This would be for the front of the alloy to be refurbished.
He recommends that to achieve a professional look the back needs to have the same colour and he would be able to do this by blending the paint across the back of the wheel, but will not be able to laquer it. The back of the alloy tends to get more abuse from the road and brakes etc, so we can not gaurantee the rear of the wheel.
If you would like a complete 'dip and strip refurbishment' which rebalances the wheel as well, then we would recommend a company called Lepsoms who need the wheels for 5 days"

and a place in Cornwall (going down there in feb for a week) that would do it for 250quid , and take the car off me for 24hours to do it, so i assume a full job

acstua I had my alloys refurbished by Mark @ Crystal Clean who is based in Essex.

http://www.alloywheelsrefurbishmentessex.co.uk

He came to my house and took my wheels back to his workshop. He returned the 'as new' wheels to my car the next day. It's been over a year since I had them done and they still look brand new. I was very pleased with his work and prices.

Say Andy with the Black C32 pointed you in his direction!

aye it was the polished wheel company i was looking at

kinda pondering if to refurb now, after seeing a couple of sets of brand new wheels and tyres for 400quid
seems i may as well run this tyres down then buy a full set with wheels for 100quid cheaper than the normal tyre only cost
