Default boost levels with avc-r

Morning, just a quick one,

'96 wrx saloon 260ps version 2, cat back system, version 7 tmic, simota panel filter, avc-r, i believe the turbo is a TD05 16g and my ecu is a Z4

Qestion is what is the max boost i can run before i hit the fuel cut, as the avc-r has 2 setting i have A set @ 0.85bar but what about B my car won't get to 1.20bar is this ok as i have it set at 1.10 and have the scrammble switch installed also for that quick little nip around the caravan in front,

If i fit a fuel cut defender will i be able to acieve that 1.20bar and what if any damage will it do to the engine, car is a very low milage 65,000

Thanks Mark

Until you have the car remapped you won't be able to run more than 1.15 bar of boost pressure realistically. From memory boost cut is around 1.25-1.3 bar on a Z4.

Be careful with those modifications though because you haven't touched the fuelling side of things and the Z4 is also mapped for Japanese fuel so you have to take that into account.

How did you fit a version 7 intercooler? My sister had a version 4 (I think) on her early classic and due to the inlet manifold it used to knock on the bulkhead and required both the intercooler & throttle body to be trimmed down to allow the intercooler to sit closer to the inlet manifold!

My sisters had the dump valve blanked off too and I'm pretty certain the real problem with hers was the brackets and not the cooler itself. How much room is there with the bigger cooler though? Got a photo of it fitted? My sisters went well on the later top mount, much better than an early standard intercooler and it took more timing. I'm on an ARC one at the moment.

If you want to check your car for det and you're happy that it's safe I have a superchips FCD but you want to be certain it's not detting it's **** off

here ya go bud

had to remove around half the lip off the tmic and the throttle body also all the work underneath too for the intake pipes to fit, but as a result i can get my fingers all round the tmic and no knocking, oh and i had to rotate the clutch fluid chamber slightly,

That's a nice looking job there, I had to knock the bulkhead out of the way there on my sisters too but I didn't think there was room for an intercooler that big Thanks for the photos
