Default ADVISE ON PRICES

Its been a while since I have been on here so I would like to big up every one.
Today I went to have my service at my subaru dealer for my 40,000 miles. When they service my car they investigated a couple of issues;
FIRST- leaking oil and water stains on coils on OS further investigation required £600 - £2000+vat !!!!!!!!
SECOND- NS Ball joint badly worn £515+ vat
THIRD - front brakes worn 70 percent £ 880 + vat

All these prices are from my local subaru dealer for a 2004 blobeye Impreza STI IMPORT.

ARE THEY RIPPING ME OFF??????? WHAT PRICES SHOULD I BE PAYING FROM A DEALER. OR SHALL I GO TO A SPECIALIST AND WHAT PRICES SHOULD I BE PAYING FROM A SPECIALIST?

please advise of prices.

God Speed will do front and rear disks and kevlar fast road pads for less than half that quote.....
Shocking what some garages quote.
Check out Godspeed, order the brakes and change them yourself in under an hour!

They don't need the work, obviously.

The front brakes are an absolute doddle ...... even an OAP like me can change them in under 1 hour each side!

That's discs, pads and bleeding through

In answer to your question YES, they are ripping you off.

Pm Ian Godfrey of Godspeed brakes (On SN), absolutley superb guy....as said front discs and pads from him for less than £200, fitting at any local garage 1.5hrs labour tops @ around £40- £50 p/hour labour.
Ball joint 2 hours labour, not more for me.
These jobs can be done by a trained monkey.
water stains = specialist.

Dealers are making nothing on sales, so clearly trying it on in repair costs.....

Just like to thank everyone for the recommendations. Will take the car to a specialist and see what the proper guys say. API imprezas are close will see what these guys have to say.

I NEVER use a main dealer unless the car is warranty. Take it to a specialist. They WILL know a LOT more about the car than the main dealer and they will be cheaper.
You dont even need to use the main dealer to keep the warranty going anymore.
