Default Exhaust help needed!

Hi all,

I currently have a nur spec exhaust fitted to my2002 wrx.

It is too loud for me and I want to change it!!

The system is 3" fully de-catted and I have been told I can just change the backbox!

Has anyone had the same issue? Which backbox did you change to?

I am looking for a much quieter one that produces a nice deep burble.

Your comments will be well received....

Cheers

Blitz Nur Spec flanges are a different orientation to OE exhausts and the bends are slightly different so other back boxes wont fit without some fettling such as a new flange etc. Best to get a full system. Consider Cobra or Revolution both of which are track friendly, so quieter, but keep that famous burble.

Sell what you have and buy a Milltek decat system. Quiet until the throttle pedal is floored

Thanks guys,

Can you just buy a compatable centre section with a resonator? Would that reduce the sound considerably? I do not want to fit a bung as I have been told this is not a good option due to back pressure.

I would be willing to swap my system if anyone is interested! I am in the Cambridge area.

Cheers

The blitz nur spec r already has a resonator in the centre section ,and some people remove this and have a straight through 3' centre which makes it even louder . There are many decent systems out there with the afterburner vortex ,being among one of the more popular ones & better flowing .Hks,Haywood & scott, cobra are a few more worth looking at imho.

You could try a new afterburner centre section with a Ninja 2 back box. Loud enough to put a smaile on your face, with a good burble from idle to 2.5k rpm, yet just about quiet enough to stop the neighbours from rioting outside the house.
