it depends on what your using it for and what your budget is IMHO
The non turbos are a great car, but for obvious reasons a turbo will be a more pulse raising drive...

Sloooooooowwwwwwww.
Having experienced non turbo sccobs when i used to have mine in for a service - not in a million years would i buy a non turbo
Get a good TDi if you don't want to splash on the running costs of a Turbo.

Running cost don't bother me.
Just looking round found a blob eye non turbo in my budget.
And it £400 cheaper to insure over a classic turbo
Going to test a classic turbo on Friday if they will let me, may pop to another garage and test non turbo too

Forget sticking a Turbo on an n/a car - it's possible but the cost to do it would be huge. I know it's snobby but a Scoob without a Turbo is quite simply an "also ran". Youths in their Clio 172's will be off down the road with little effort.
