One thing I don't understand is in theory are the spec d's are not just a toned down sti bodywork wise, with more sound deadening and leather seats?
All the other bits are the same?
If that's the case why are they generally soo much cheaper then the sti
Cheers

When new they were £29K in 2006 , some £4k more than a STi but they never sold very well and ended up being flogged for £20-£21K a year later.
Perhaps the average STi owner just wants to be noticed and this was too "old man" for them?
I wonder why IM thought they would sell at that price?

I quite like the subtle looks, get a forged build and a rotated turbo and have a real sleeper.... Ummmm new project maybe lol.
Seen one on pistonheads with 50-60k up at under 9k that's a lot of car for the money.

Hi
I actually went to Graham Walkers a few weeks ago to look at a different car and ended up testing this one. It's an extremely tidy motor that has been tweaked somewhat. The salesman thought it felt nearer 340 BHP rather than 360 but I was really impressed with the power deliver, very smooth and linear.
I guess the only reason I didn't go for this one was because I'm after an STI Limited.
Good luck with the viewing and let us know how it goes.

I think they sell for less than a standard STI coz the quiet looks are not what the average Uk STI owner is/ was looking for. A fair few Spec D's were sold to businesses as company cars, since Subaru gave a reasonable tax break on these models, so some cars have high mileage and that too drops the price, of course.
All that said i like th discreet looks, and if 300 rolled off the line i would guess not more than 250 remain.....and falling!

Holy thread revival Batman.
That is my old car. Was an absolute minter when I sold it privately back in 2010 or was it 2009... with just 23k miles on the clock. It was indeed running 360/390 at the fly wheel. I did all the modifications or had them professionally done without expense spared.
Miss that car
