Subaru MOT North West.
My 1999 UK 2000 Turbo will be due an MOT in March.
Last year together with its 90000 service an MOT was done by the Subaru Specialist who serviced it.
They dont do MOT"S so it was taken to another garage nearby who do all their MOT"s.
I believe with the AWD system the brakes should be tested on a two wheel roller system to avoid damage.
Strangely enough the gearbox failed a few weeks after the MOT.
Maybe just a coincidence but i would like to take it somewhere who is aware of this and got the proper facilities.
Any ideas i am based in central Lancashire near Preston.
Cheers.

Surely you mean a 4 wheel roller brake tester? ( a roller for each pair of wheele? ) - or is that what you mean... roller at each end!
Not sure but I think my classic brakes were tested on 2 wheel brake tester i.e. 1 axle for the wheels, although they may have used an accelerometer and not the rollers.
The centre diff has a quite low set break point ( unless you have DCCD cranked up to lock ) so should not damage easily, but I do struggle to see how the garage could get one pair of wheels to turn and leave other end stationary!

My apologies for that yes i did mean a four wheel roller brake tester.
I had no dealings with the MOT garage so maybe they did have the correct facilities or as you say used a Tapley Meter.
I am probably just a bit paronoid with the box going shortly after the mot test.
Thanks for your reply.
