Running a standard bug STi - on V-Max.
Running with my scangauge, my 50 mile trip to work over A-Roads and Slow Motorway gets me a pretty solid 25 - 28mpg.
Longer runs on the motorway up to 29mpg
Pootling around town or thrashy B roads I'm looking at 15 - 19mpg
I get pretty much 200 miles before the tank is showing 1/4 full. Usually fill up then for around £55.

Where I live though you cannot get a 'good run' to get this figure higher. No motorways and only 1 dual carriageway

These MPG question are unbelievable, almost every day someone ask about MPG,if you want great car with MPG,go for Diesel(or at least LPG conversion on Subaru) not Subaru.
I've manage last time on full tank of V-Power 330miles(70% motorway, cruising speed around 70mph and 30% city driving),before i manage due failing O2 sensor around 220miles form full tank

If you've got an iPhone load up the Road Trip app. Covers all costs and gives MPG. My 2004 WRX is giving an average of 27.44 MPG. The best i've seen was 32.2 on a run down to Newcastle.

spec D in progress standard ECU map.....207 miles tank empty....short trips and cold weather kill me...I would suggest 20mpg urban would be good in anything aside a standard WRX, My old car before PPP was ok for 25+mpg round town.

NO-ONE is presuming that buying a scoob is an economical decision, some people want a scoob, but also need to watch their pennies, like myself, so have worked out what they can afford, and if a scoob falls within their budget, then good on them, this is why they ask.

Yet you monitor your miles per tank

I am about to get an 03 WRX, but since 09 I have monitored my 1.8 1999 Mondeo on a spread sheet.
Since sept 09 to date I have spent £1,019.84, covered 5102 Miles, Used 881.90 Litres
Miles from Average tank 283.4
Average Tank fill (litres) 48.99
Average MPG 26.37
Average Pence Per mile £0.201
I expect to see about the same from the WRX PPP
