clutch on the way out
my gb270 seemed to be showing a new lease of life this morning, the clutch felt lighter and put your foot down and for a second i thought it was wheel spin and then it launched off like a stabbed rat!! on reflection it would appear there is clutch slip at 3k and then it launches off.
is 28k about normal for a clutch or should i be taking it back to subaru for maintainence as i mentioned the clutch seemed to get lighter which is sort of a pet hate i have with this car.
how long can i expect it to last with this intermittent clutch slip it is having at the mo?

manufacturers warranty has expired now and doubt it would cover the clutch anyway.
just toying with the idea of paying for the aa mechanical cover. or just getting on with paying for a new clutch and weather to get it done at a subaru main dealer or a subaru specialist with cheaper rates

pay the extra and get a AP organic clutch fitted.... think I paid about £700 ish, but then you have no worries about it not lasting

I would suggest you go for either a A.P.I clutch or Exedy uprated then mate, as already stated it will cost around £700 fitted. Where abouts in the country are you?

just got to hope it holds out until they return after christmas.
when looking at scoobyworld site and xtremescoobies i cant work out if the prices they quote are including parts. i also dont know if they mean clutch replacement means , cover&plate or just plate? all very confusing as you lot are telling me 700 fitted but every where i have seen seem to quote around 575ish?
what is a stage 1 clutch also and if i were to use an uprated item what would i need to ask for? i dont really want to use a paddle clutch as it is our daily drive

Ello
Get an exedy kit from Mark at Lateral (top fella) and then get Paul at Extremes to fit it for you. Paul won't pull your pants down on the fitting cost either
I have the Exedy pink in my wagon and it's great
As for pricing under £600 for the flyskim, clutch and fitting
Worth changing the rear main oil seal too while you are there it's a £15 interference seal but very worthwhile changing while you have access.

Out of interest, do you do many launches?
28k isn't much for a clutch, my classic did well over 60,000 on one, and that included towing our caravan all over France four years running. Have you had the car from new?
Oh and expensive month? Hah! I see your expensive month and raise you a new engine........
