Hi, just need some clues on how much it would cost to rebuild uk turbo engine, engines knocking and plenty of smoke from exhaust. Thnx

 

between 2000-2500 i would say is an avarage price . probably cheaper to get a different engine fitted ? but finding a decent one is the problem !! im in need of a rebuild too for my bugeye looked everywhere for decent recon engines with no success ,so going down the safer root of rebuild if u are gonna look for an engine dont go to (reconditioned engines .com ) they promise £1695 with 5 years guarantee ! been investigated on watchdog for supplying dodgy secondhand engines that have just been painted silver . i think there is a few companys linked with them also , just beware heathrow and hayes way . good luck whatever u do

 

Cost of a rebuild depends on what you want putting in it. And what power you ultimately want.

 

I've had an engine Built By Andy Williams - he's on eBay a lot with recon engines, should be able to get one from him on exchange for around £1800, and a further £350 for fitting. Worth a go - the forged 2.5 he built me is spot on!

 

Hi there you can contact here API(APIDavid)which have good reputation for rebuilding engines.Cost?This really depend on parts and what you want (forged,2.1stroker etc.)
I go next month rebuild mine to 2.1 stroker and i expect pay around £2.8k including parts.

 

you can get a 2.1 stroker kit supplied and fitted for under 3k???? man thats far cheaper than i thought ! wish id done my research a bit more and not gone for a brand new vf34 now should of got a lateral performance turbo or something capable of 400+
