"Not been thrashed"

Mmm bet the engine was warmed up and cooled down properly every time it was driven.

Would be interesting to know the full spec of an ex police car, remember a few years back when i had my type r was filling up with optimax at our local shell, when an unmarked black scooby pulled up for fuel and the plain clothes got out and we had a nice chat ,but he wasnt prepared to say what the spec was (maybe didnt know) not sure but he did comment on my sti so not all bad guys...!

....wouldnt touch it personally, police cars lead a hard life! Ever seen the speed they hit some of the speedbumps at lol!?

Was an ex mondeo ST220 for sale near me recently....every panel was badly scratched, and the front bumper looked like it had been in front of a shot blaster lol

Could of been an interesting viewing.

I use to do the police auctions and the state the interiors where in was appalling, with all the holes where the gear had been fitted. The motor-bikes where even worse, hardly any dash left on them.

TBH, the ones Humberside have aren't particularly high spec, at least as regards engine.

When I bought my Volvo T5 from a dealer, I thought about the tons of ex-police cars out there - a few problems thought:

1) holes in the dash, lining; pretty much everywhere
2) Lowest spec imaginable
3) 100+ drivers in it's life

Car was not a motorway patrol car. It was a traffic car thrashed around Harrogate, York and Scarborough.I've driven it and it was thrashed it didn't have PPP fitted, it was run on normal unleaded . Warmed up and cooled down....get real.

Just incase you can't work it out... It was being evaluated by North Yorkshire Police a few years back and I helped evaluate it.

Oh and I smell of pork scratchings...................
