Question thermostat housing nightmare

struggling to change my stat, as cant get the housing off, its a struggle to get the 10mm bolts out cuz not much room to play with. any ideas please, cheers

true they are a bugger!!, get underneath of the car if you can.

Only way i found wa to remove the Radiator.

easy job, remove top hose, bottom hose already off (as your doing the housing/stat etc)

2 clamps on the slam panel hold the rad on, remove these, liftout, then,undo 1 of the hosuing bolts from underneath,the other from standing above the car

at least you have a stat to replace the old one with, i removed the old stat,ordered the new one (car not used everyday,i use a m/bike) still awaiting 10 days later caus of the post delay grrr

also you might need quite a bit of leverage to force the old stat out of it's place. A screwdriver should do it.

easy enough to do with a decent socket set, only thing to be concerned about is sometimes the bolts will actually shear off - not good.

No need to remove the rad, thats overkill, just remove the bottom hose
