Default What exhaust

Hi Guys

I have recently brought myself an 04 blobeye wrx wagon, it still has the standard exhaust and I am looking for something to enhance that awsome scooby sound.

Any recomendations on manufacturer and what price should I expect to pay!!!

Thanks
Large

Probably best to listen to a few different ones and find out what you like and then decide how much of your factory fit system in conjunction with other mods you can afford to replace. Regardless of the mixed feelings on another thread not too far from this one, I personally have had great service from Hayward & Scott and like the way my set up sounds and will definitely be driving back to Basildon when I need other exhaust parts fitting.

Hi Large you are probably mean Wagon no hatchback(because hatchback is new 07-10).And for exhaust you can have look for Cobra exhaust(these exhaust have good reputation and are made here in UK,price 400£ for full exhaust with decated downpipe(around 250-280£ for catback) or 280£ for Japspeed(quality is like form eBay),Hayward and scott is best, but pricey or Miltek if you want spend crazy money for quality like from eBay

HKS Superdragger on mine. Not to intrusive on tick over and round town driving. But when it comes onto boost it sure does sound nice.

I am thinking of changing it though to an Afterburner Vortex, weve got some new neighbours that i dont like lol !

I have a Heyward & Scott 2.5" cat back with straight through centre pipe and original design back box, I love it, just the right level of noise for me

I found the quality and service excellent, fitted it myself without any issues .

I can recommend Milltek 3" turbo back. Subtle until you give it some stick.
Recommended by several decent tuners for its fit and finish.
Glad I listened to expert advice.
Prior to that I had a Prodrive back box which had a slightly quieter burble.
There's plenty of clips on Youtube to help you choose.

Welcome to SN mate.

What level do you want to take the car to? What is the car used for?

If you want a nice sound without going OTT why not go for a WR Sport (made by prodrive) or a Prodrive back box to start with. You can pick them up second hand for a good sum.

If you want to go that bit beyond a Vortex Afterburner is a good back box/system. Made by Haywood & Scott.

It all depends on what burble you want and how loud?

I like the look of the prodrive one and am currently looking for a backbox myself. I think it does a good job enhancing without being overly obvious about it.

That will be the distinct lack of cats lol.... There is another one on there showing the launch and flat throttle shifiting. Only sad part is amde my little girl cry oooops ah well cant win em all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zChp58-cdug

I have still got the prodrive backbox and centre decat not sure if the decat only fits the hawks but the prodrive will definately fit 01 to 07.
resonable money will see them sold...

Good luck in finding the right pipe. Has took me 2 years and a few £'s but its worth it. Watch with the decat thing - you will be ok with the second without a map but if you go full talk to Duncan at Race Dynamix.
