sti 8 problem

Default sti 8 problem

i wondered if anyone knew about sti 8 banging and it feels like diff has movement do them whiteline bushes cure it do the engine mounts normally go that could be causing movement it has had brand new rear shock and springs both sides so it cant be that im wanting to put whiteline kit on the car anyway just need to sort this problem out first

Dunno, have no idea what an STI 8 is, if you give the model, year and market then we may be able to have a good guess i suppose

I had a banging noise on mine, turned out the centre viscous diff had collapsed. Car had done 50K

hello its a uk model its a 53reg totaly standed it had both rear struts done and springs before i bought it feels like rear diff moving it clunk and bangs when you change gear hard think im gonna try the whiteline diff support does anyone no a good dealers for whiteline parts

mines done 51k and was it dear fixing it i think a mounting or bush has failed cos it feels like there is movement when you change gear

Car was under warranty so didnt have to pay. Mine was like a click but could be felt through the whole car like the gearbox jumping!, not there all the time. Mainly slow speeds and turning. Took subaru 4 weeks to admit there was a fault as it didnt always do it.

i will be doing that tony as soon as i can get to my unit that was the first thing i was gonna do it has had a full service from a main dealers new timing belt and new shocks all in one im still gonna check gear box and diff oil
