intermittent boost solved at last!!!!
After months of the car only producing 0.5 bar on and off compared to the 1.1 bar it normally runs. It is now fixed!!
I have a 95 wrx, tdo5, pp chip, hks IK, 3 inch decat and system, tried looking for fault codes, replaced bcs, PES, and MAP sensor and still the problem occured. some days i would get normal boost other days just 0.5.
As it happens a new Tesco opened up near my work and i have switched to Tesco momentum 99 and it has never gone back to 0.5 bar! what a result.
I hooked up a temp knock link and guess what no knock. Went back to bp, morrisons and knock is detected.
I gather the car lowers the boost automatically to save det? back on tesco fuel and jobs a goodun.
When I spoke to morrisons they gave me a note saying their fuel was a bio fuel mix and even though it doesnt say on the pump what ron it was, the note claimed a mixed fuel gives......94 RON
don't rate the bp ultimate either, and theres not a shell near me for 30 miles.
anyone else have problems like this as well?

yes bp ultimate is not good stuff.
Esso 97 is not bad, Tescos 99 better and shell 99 v good if you can get it etc.
Lucky the knock control works else you would have lost the engine

Tesco's in ellon have a habit of not refilling up the 99 when the petrol deal is on(5p off a litre when u spend xx amount in sotre) as it loses them money. i would imagine its the same for all the tesco's in the aberdeen/shire area!!!
