Default engine

hi all i'v brought a wrx 2001 and the bottom end is creamed i'm just wandering whats best todo do i source a second hand engine off the net or just have the engine reconditioned well just the bottom end really the heads are fine,
if i have the engine reconditiond is it worth getting stronger internals wile i'v got it apart,what bits would you recommend fitting?

Rebuild is your best bet (and will probably end up the cheapest way if you go about buying dodgy engines off the net like smr/ideal etc), but it will set you back around 1800-2.5k, I would have a word with API and just hope you got the car for next to nothing

as tony says best option is to rebuild unless you can get an sti bottom end from a very reliable source ie trusted memeber from here or something similar

Depends what your budget is and if you can afford to have the car off the road for upto a month. I would either go for a rebuild by A.P.I or buy a newage Sti engine off of here from a respected member. There are a few in the classified at the moment

Infact some was selling a jdm sti lump, i will try and find the thread....
