Hi all,
is there any diy way to disable a Subaru fitted alarm system?

As above.

The other potential downside is that disabling the alarm may also potentially disable your insurance policy - if (as most do) it requires the fitment of a functional category 1 alarm.

Sorry didn't make it clear that the car is no lomger in the UK and so not subject to UK car insurance requirements. Going off randomly and have tried all checks.

sorry about not giving full info. I hope I have a brain cell left!

If I remember right you have posted in another thread over the last 24 hours in which I gave instructions on how to check which circuit is causing the triggers, have you tried that?

Once you know that you can either replace the offending switch/sensor or disconnect it - which will leave you with the benefits of the rest of the alarm, inc the other sensors, immobiliser and remote locking control.

As has already been said, if you think someone's going to tell you how to disable/remove the security system in a public forum, you're likely to be disappointed. While determined car thieves probably know most of what they need to already, there's no need to give any of them a free leg-up.
