Default Advice for a potential future owner

I test drove a 53 plate sti at my local dealer and very much enjoyed my first subaru experience. Couldn't get used to the turbo power delivery as all of my cars have been or are N/A. The performance seemed ok on the test drive but when I got back into my current daily car (a clio 255) it felt really slow in comparison!

My question is should I go for a blobeye or spend the extra and get a hawkeye? Other than the styling I understand that the hawkeye has the larger engine and the DCCD. Is that right? I've also seen a blobeye sti for sale but its been mapped by Zen Performance. Is this ok or should I avoid?

Lastly what would you buy if you had a budget of £15k max?

Thanks in advance,

Si

more horses and more goodies in the japanese models im not a pro but the pro's will soon be along to tell you exactly why to go down the JDM route over the uk car.

The one you seen that had been mapped by zen will be mapped properly. I cant say anything about the car as i dont know it, but mapped cars are fine especially if mapped by Paul blamire who ownes zen performance used to be a really big outfit but scaled things down to concentrate on just the mapping side of things and i think he builds an odd gearbox for a select few, but dont quote me on the gearbox bit, But definetly one of the best mappers in the country without a doubt....

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm going to test drive a hawkeye sti at the weekend and i'll see if its worth the premium over a blobeye. Thanks for the info re the zen mapping also.

Cheers
