How long to loosen up?
Hi All, maybe a subjective topic but I am wondering how many miles it takes before my 2010 Hatch starts to "loosen up" as they say! I have owned a couple of M-cars before and although they are technically run in at 1-2K miles there is no doubt they start to "go" much better after some 10K miles or so... I have done just under 2K from new now and things are going well:-) just wondered if it was going to get "better" in the future? Peter

Hi
Couldnt say on the new 2.5 engine.. but when I bought my 03 Sti from new I was told 1k was more than enough..
I managed 800 got the service done and 4years are spirited driving later it was still perfect.

Took it reasonably easy for the first 1K - just short sharp bursts etc
After 1K service then gradually build up the rpm limit on acceleration until you're happy.
3 - 4K?
I assume you feel its a bit slow then?
Does it have PPP or is it standard?

Thanks for the helpful replies so far it does have the PPP so it it is not exactly slow and definitely quicker than a Rover 25... Just feels a bit tight and not realy keen to rev... From the replied above does not sound as if I have too long to wait - thanks, Peter
