Default What To Do When My APS FMIC Is Installed

I have just bought an APS FMIC for fitment to my Spec C Blobeye, and now some other thoughts have come to mind...

I would like to remove the intake scoop and intercooler tray and replace with a carbon fibre reverse scoop or similar, does anyone have a recommendation and a photo or two of one in place.

The 12 litre intercooler spray bottle in the boot will now be useless, but I can now use it for another purpose such a water mist (aquamist perhaps) spray into the inlet manifold to aid in cooling and combustion, can anyone recommend a suitable water injection kit or would I be better off not bothering and just remove the water resevoir etc.

My eventual power aim is around 420-450bhp but this will be mainly achieved by the addition of a new twin scroll turbo probably one of the SC billet or Litchfield billet turbos in the new year.

Rcm for the reverse scoop but it won't be cheap and speak with bob Ralwe regarding the aquamist as he had it fitted to his sti that I bought off him so I am sure he can recommend you the right parts you will need

To be honest I've seen the kit that Banny has for sale and that is an option, but I'd only be interested in bits of it.

I was hoping for a reverse scoop a little bit more price friendly than the RCM type, but they are very good quality so it is an option.

I'm just about to fire an e-mail off to Bob as I have to get a booking confirmed with the mods listed, I was due to go up to see him for a map tweak shortly, looks like a good time to get it all done at the same time.

Once I contacted Bob Rawle I'll have a list of what I need to re-use my existing 12L resevoir, I'll get in touch with Banny afterwards.

The reverse scoop looks good but only for Bugeye and Hawkeye at present and I was looking for a carbon fibre version preferably.

I'm not really a big fan of the Blobeye STi scoop, so I'll be quite happy to see a reverse scoop in place helping to draw the hot air from the engine bay.

Very nice , what was the fitment like? I would hope for a perfect fit with no minor trimming necessary.

The reverse scoop bolted straight on with no alterations necessary. FYI it's fibreglass with carbon on the top, rather than "pure" carbon.

The APS needs a reasonable amount of the bumper cut away behind, but they supply an excellent template.

The only obvious bit of untidyness is where the grey plastic strip used to be along the top edge of the void below the number plate. There're now two rectangular holes at each side where it used to run behind the bumper, if you see what I mean.

You could leave it on I think, but airflow might be a bit poorer

Well there goes my Zunsport lower grille , having looked online at the fitting instructions for the APS FMIC I'm surprised at how much modification is required especially as they say that no really major work is required.

I'm seriously leaning towards the Kakumei reverse bonnet scoop, as per the link below - what do you think?

I know the quality is good and I like the style.

Default r.e Seibon

I helped my friend fit his Seibon Hawkeye carbon bonnet the other day. The fit was very poor for £600. The hinge and catch bolt holes were the wrong size, the holes for the washer jet tube fixings were missing, the holes for the washer jets themselves were too small, the holes for the underscoop ducting thing didnt line up and some of the holes for the heatshield were missing !
Does look pretty cool now its on though.
Jay
