im looking at getting a turbo 2000 on a 98 reg but it has few problems 1 it smokes and 2 everytime you change gears the revs drops is this a minor problem or serious problem

Move on to the next car mate... There are so many Imprezas out there, there's simply no excuse to be contemplating buying one with possible signs of potential trouble.

The revs will naturally drop, as you've changed up to a longer gear!

Or do you mean that they dip right down and nearly stall? By how much rpm do they drop?

why look at a car with obvious problems? could be turbo or a number of problems, walk away and look at one that is working!!! there are many about no need to look at badly runinng cars!

Mate that is a pile, wouldn't part with £200 for that, it's mods show how it's been driven, 6x4 tailpipe, oh dear, isn't it amazing he can afford a dump valve and a stupid exhaust but can't maintain his car.
The clutch is gone, engine has had it, it's just not worth the bother, it would cost thousands to put that right.
Leave well alone please, or offer him £200 and break it.

Something will turn up, especially if you have an engine, put an ad in the wanted section, What sort of budget do you have, saw a nice car advertised on here for about 2k the other day

Keep your eyes open mate as there will be a few rolling shells around as so many of these cars get broken, would be nice if you did find one for the body to be in tidy condition and not needing much paint etc

there are a lot better cars on the classified ads here mate, keep your eyes open it took me nearly three months to find mine and in that time i saw some very rough looking impreza`s.....but there are some good ones out there

do not waste you time - rervs should actually rise a tiny amount as you change gear then drop.

a crap impreza like this will cost you 4 times it's worth in many cases to sort out - spent more and get one that has nice rims, exhaust, remap and is in good condition. take you time will be worth it.

just got a reply off the bloke selling scooby on ebay he said 700 no less its worth 1500 allday as it is with smokey engine dropping revs and fcuked clutch to many jokers on ebay lol

i went and viewed a car today by a private seller he wanted 1100 for it when i got there the area looked rough very rough also the car had no chassis tags on it and 1 key the owner said he bought it like that but it was fishy then he dropped it to 800 then 700 but i told him nah not interested so drove 50 miles trip for nothing oh well keep looking
