Usually only done for racing or 1/4 times, but when you are as serious as some of the tuners on here, and when its what you do for a living (mappers) every ounce counts.

Could be the diffrence of running a 10 sec or 9.9.

And you will notice that a 9.9 sec is in a diffrent league to a 10sec 1/4 mile...

I think all the small things just add up but if you are using the car everyday I dont think you will notice any difference.unless you do any kind of racing the amounts would be so small ,better off running with 1/4 of a tank as aposed to a full tank

so you want to loose some weight huh? air con, interior, carpets, sound deadening, suspension, spare wheel, rear window, side windows, electric motors for windows, door cards, stereo, speakers, smaller fuel tank, smaller battery, lighter alloy wheels, ally lower arms, ally bonnet, plastic doors, plastic boot lid, removal of high level spoiler, carbon fibre prop, shall i go on.

Some really easy things to lose weight but once the big hits are done it get really expensive and each step you take ruins the car even more for use on the road.

Spare Wheel and jack is about 30kgs

Rear seats ~ 10 kgs

Air con ~ 10 kgs

Sound deadening and sound proofing weighs a ton ,, an absolute **** to remove it but about 15kgs+ of it

Lots of weight to be saved by going to coilovers

Lots of weight by fitting 2 piece brake discs

Slippery slope (that I have slipped down) but weight is a big difference to the overall performance.

Front seats about 23kg each, replace with lightweight bucket ones about 9kg each.

Inertia reel belts about 4kg front and 4kg rear, replace with front harness only as rear seats already removed? Car now pretty impractical for road use!

Taken from 22b.com

"STI seats weigh 10kg each, its the runners/subframe that are heavy. "
