Question remap

im, thinking about removing my aircon from my 2002 wrx, ie the compresser and pipework, once done would this cause any running problems to the car, and would i need to get the ecu remapped? cheers

It should not cause any issues requiring a re-map.

Why do you want to remove a 1k extra from a WRX you may as well keep it in there for summer and its a good selling point.

if you think its going to be lighter, it makes virtually no difference

no it won't need a remap.. and is a fair weight saving.

you could keep it and get better power to weight by having it mapped though.

The ECU switches off the aircon when it thinks the engine is working hard so doesn't sap power..........nice on sunny days as well.

Just keep it and re-map the car with a couple of mods

Leave it in and get the shorter belt anyway, easy to put back on again in the summer if you really want it, at least with the shorter belt the engine doesn't have to drive it and then get a map as well
