Default Cheap Insureance needed!! 07 STI PPP 27yrs old

Hi I am looking to insure my STI PPP 07 reg and need to find a cheap quote. Admiral have quoted £1000 fully comp.

Any suggestions would be great.

Also what mpg should I expect on the motoway at 80mph 20mpg? This is what I returned out of my 05STI ppp was wondering in the 2.5 engine would be thurstier!!.

Cheers

im £500 fully comp 400bhp all mods declared, wife is main driver as i use another car for work. She has 5 yrs ncd, but we live in scotland where there is not alot of car crime or thieving wee ba$tards..

Also have the joys of no speed cameras, and police are really good, so can use the scoob to the limit on our quite country rds..

I only have 1 years no claim (But I dont think 5 more would make that much of a differance). Totally clean Licence and I have been driving for 10 years.
I thought I could get it for around £750 to 850.

I'm 29 with 7 years protected NCB, 02 STi PPP in Cambridge

had lots of quotes but the cheapest was 1st Central insurance at about £730. However they don't have a very good rep and a few odd things such as I'm not 3rd party insured on other cars (wierd).

That said this is my first "performance" car, so when speaking to A-Plan etc they suggested that I get a year experience on the car then they could do me a better deal. They had offered about £1200... ouch..

But you're always going to get stupid quotes from certain firms.

I remember my last 05 STI getting quotes of 4.5K for insurance when I was already paying approx £700

Try some of the bigger we'll known companies
Perhaps say either Kieth Michaels or Greenlight who are both on here

Does it matter what time of year you renew insurance? I was thinkind there are probably more accidents during winter so does that mean January through to April would be a bad time to buy (not that you can really do much about it)?

Nope, the policy is for 12 months, so whatever time of year you have an accident it'll still be in the 12 month period of insurance.

Sorry I must have put that badly. I have read that premiums may also fluctuate due to the number of claims that a company has had to pay out in that or previous months. From this I assumed that there would be more claims during winter where insurance companies would need to claw back the losses.

This was backed up when I initially asked for my wife to be put on when I started my policy in January and was quoted and extra £400 for the year (shes a learner driver). In June I tried again for the remaining 6 months and was quoted £140!
