Default Paint mixing confusion?

Previously i tried getting hold of some 230 white for my Type R but had no luck getting the exact match. Halfords have 4 types of 230's & the most lightest one is abit more yellow. I also went to my local to get paint mixed but again had issues.

Basically i want to know where is the best place to buy paints that will make the exact match?

Thanks

What ive found is sometimes its best to forget the paint codes and just take a small piece of your car to the paint shop and get them to match that, plus there matching to your older paint colour which usually makes a better colour match

It depends on who made the original paint for Subaru as although it may be the same colour code I've found that you get slightly different results with different manufacturers of paint.

Brown Brothers should be able to help

You can look on the Standox paint website to find paint colouration http://www.standox.com/portal/

Appreciated. Even with taking the grill inside the shop for them to match the colour was not good enough. Always ended up getting the yellow mix to it.

I'll have a look at the colour code books at work hopefully I've a 98 Type R that needs a bit of paint tlc.

You could ask at a body shop tbh as my car was rear ended and required a new bumper/bootlid and the paint match was spot on imo.

Ye tryed a bodyshop but the colour was too bright. If you could look up the S202 JDM STi 7 in white 2002 then that would be appreciated. If not then no worries. Im just affraid of having the issues in finding the right paint colour for the S202 like i had with my Type R.

Looked at our Nexa Autocolour (ICI) books and

Type R

230 Primer No 1
Feather White BC20B/BC20

S202

51E Primer No 1 GRK8B/GPK9
Bluer LBV1B/LBV1
Yellower 6KXTB/6KXT

You can sign upto the Autocolour website http://www.ppg.com/coatings/nexaauto...ages/home.aspx and you can actually get the formulas

Will try to get samples mixed up for you.

Highly appreciated bud

The information you have given regarding the colours makes much more sense.

If you could sort out the samples, then that would be great & i will happily cover any costs.
