Problem with Pro Sport Gauges.
Hey all.
I've had my Pro sport Gauges now fitted to my V5 STI for nearly four months now without any trouble what so ever. But today, while I was driving the whole three gauges turned themselves off and On.
So I left car for a while and took her for a spin later on. And it did it again. The vehicle was at correct operating temp. Its not doing it constantly. Only thing I can think of is a earthing problem.
I have had the car yesterday in for a knock sensor check where my TMIC was removed. And my Oil Temp sensor is placed in the bung in Cylinder 3.

It sounds like they are all wired to a common positive and or maybe ground. If the three went off it's a supply issue at the point they connect to car's loom or junction. If they were all fitted at the same time or individually by the same person it's likely the connections are done in the same location/manner. There will be other electrical items on your car which get their supply off the same power rail as the guages, if it was a short it would have popped a fuse somewhere and compromised additional not after market items on the vehicle. Maybe whip off the fascia or trim/dash cover in their proximity and check the integrity of the connection points, both positive and ground, make good as required.

Ok my car is going in next week for a new knock sensor so will ask him to have a look at it. He has had my dials out to remove the paper blocking the check engine light so not sure if thats anything to do with it.
I will just keep my eye open on anything else.

As mentioned above, if all three did it at once, it's the supply, or the earth that is the problem. I had similar with Defis. Every now and then, a little beep and all the settings, (peaks) were lost.
Turned out to be an intermittent earth.
I suggest you, or someone, checks all connections to both live feed and earth.
