Clutch confusion
Just need a straight answer guys and dolls which clutch for a 2002 WRX Wagon? 225mm or 230mm?
looking for spending about £180 seen a couple on here as Genuine Exedy Organic Clutches, Pink I understand to be an uprated "fast road" clutch and the Blue a direct replacement but I dont know what diameter.
Plus, when a clutch starts to go, how quickly would you expect to have any serious problems? I only noticed the clutch going last week and already only a few days later its got to the point I've really gotta watch the rev counter to make sure I dont go bouncing it off the limiter.
I cant work out if it's a failure (can claim on warrenty) or if its what will be seen as wear and tear. Alternatively ive only had the car 4 weeks do you think it would be worth getting in touch with the garage? or am I gonna be wasting my breath there?

If a 225mm was on and your using the same flywheel you will need to have it refaced then you can use the 230mm.
I have a exceedy 225mm only done about 150 mile 200 tops and now breaking the car.
Its also worth ago with the garage you bought it from if there's any warantee may as well try.

ok so I could have either the 230mm or the 225mm fitted?!?
other than taking the car to the garage and asking them to spend an hour looking at it to tell me what size is on it is there an easy way to tell??

You will have a 230mm clutch fitted. A 225mm can also be fitted. I've found I always need to skim the flywheel when changing the clutch on mine.
