Have you checked the belt is tight? The very latest steering fuild is a bule/green colour> but i would have thought you should be having the red dextron11 in your car

yep just goes round the pullies including the pump pully. If its loose it may not turn the pump properly when its cold and the belt will/could slip making a screeching sound. 2 belts on a scoob. alternator/power steering and aircon if you have it? if you dont just the 1 belt.

Im a little bit worried what youve put in it? or was the green/blue already in it? as some anti-freeze could also be considered green/blue in colour

ive just bought the car mate ,it was already in when i looked today .
is it possible that the red colour has just gone dirty and looks blue ?its hard to tell exactly what colour it is through the plastic

ive topped it up with red atf today ,but i think il drain it all and refill with fresh fluid ,il check the belt first as you suggest ,thanks

it has ac by the way yeah

just had a look and the belt has a big split in it ,could this be my problem ?it seems tight enough .

does the other belt have to come off to get the power steering belt off ?

For the price of the belts maybe £8 or £10 each, You may just as well change them both to be safe>
And yep a good idea to drain the fliud and re-fill with new stuff. It normally goes a blackish colour when its well used.

I think there the cheap things to do and then see how it behaves
