Default REV JUMP: Problem?

Just recently I have noticed that if I have my foot hard down as the revs climb to the point where the turbo spins up the revs increase suddenly as if the clutch is slipping and then they drop back in line with the rate of accelleration.
Is this a known issue?
Thanks

Looks to me like you've answered your own question! Clutch sounds fooked.

Is the clutch a big job on these motors? mines a 2002 WRX Wagon, i beleive I'll be able to get this done under the 12 month warranty but in case they play the "fair wear and tear" card I'd best be informed.
