This subject is sort of like the drinking culture in the UK. The more pints you can down the more of a man you are.... the worse MPG you get the more of a driver you are.

My point is this... please don´t tell me you are having fun in your scooby or in fact should be allowed to own one if you are getting 25mpg! I read in a mag that someone got 6 mpg out of a spec c... he must have shagged countless women and no doubt be a driving god!

it was crazy and i'd never do anything like that again. We had a booking on a ferry but got held up in a monster jam in Holland for over an hour.3 other cars in our group didnt make it and had to wait 4 hours for the next boat and pay an additional premium. It wasnt big or clever and certainly nothing to boast about but in the interests of this thread i thought i'd post

My brother has a VW Toureg 4.6 V8 out in America - he's averaging 13MPG at the moment on his normal daily commute (mostly motorway miles).

Luckily fuel costs him $1.80 a gallon.. but still.

As for me, dunno - probably about 25MPG.

last 3 years comming back from the ring we done the exact same thing, one year was to get the EARLIER ferry,,,,, we JUST made it but france was a blur and we left someone behind and had to wave to them from the ferry ( fiesta turbos aint great over 100mph for long distance and he wouldnt attempt to do over 130 as he was a VERY sensible person,,,, though he never mentioned it when he asked to join the convoy so we first of all slowed down for him to catch up,,,,,,, which held us up more hence the 1 hour high speed pursuit through france

this year we took 3 different routes and done a top gear challenge to see what was the quickest route,,,,, but no more that 100mph was the rules,,,,,, but we ALL cheated as we all hit traffic,,,,, anoying more being in a 650bhp evo 8 and comming in last,,,, by 45 mins aswell meaning everyone missed the ferry as they waited for us to be nice which was even worse

I like this thread makes a change from the "i can get 25mpg if my wifes catches the bus home(weight saving) and i push the car up the drive!" threads.
