The Subaru fitted cat 1 alarm system on my wrx goes off radomly in the middle of the night keeping the whole street entertained! How can I deactivate the thing in a simple way. For how I'm using the car at present I don't need an alarm but don't want to get rid of it just in case I want to sell the car..............please help.........so we can getsome sleep!

Would locking with the key instead of the fob not activate the alarm?

The battery in the sounder is dying, or as a club member found, the wires to the battery have corroded.
