With that STIs 6th gear can u get 35 ? or 300+ to a tank
Also QQ about SI drive thing, when would one use sport mode over sharp surely sharp all the way unless Motorway then intelligent ?
Also if you spanking some1 at the lights do u all Lock the diff ? or just leave it ?

Generally on a motorway run anywhere between 28 and 30, this is my best.
And yes on a motorway I get 75 miles to a quarter of a tank
SI Drive, Sport Sharp as soon as engine is warmed up, even on motorways for me unless I'm lazy and in cruise!!
Spanking, leave all in std settings, I only play with if in the snow.

Took the Family to Devon this summer, got there plus 2 days travelling about before refilling, 35+ mpg. Had left it in i all the way there but had been stuck for about 1 hour on motorway, then S or S# whilst in Devon so all in all pretty impressive (no pun intended!). On return got bored so played a bit & got 30ish!

Mine has said its averaging around 40mpg since fitting a new fuel pump and 800cc injectors lol. I know the computer is telling lies but I did manage a 300mile round trip on 1 tank last week. Not bad for a 450bhp car

2002 WRX STI PPP Real life day to day MPG
Being new to the Subaru experience I keep thinking of questions and looking at certain things about the car...
I’m currently looking at the MPG consumption and working it out an average based on a daily 66 mile trip.
26 miles urban and 40 miles motorway. M25 J16 – 21. There’s a lot of road works on these sections so most mornings im crawling for 30% of that journey.
For the last 10 days the combined MPG is coming out at 23.8 MPG. This based on full tank to half tank and refilling, roughly 29 litres / 6.35 gallons @ approx 150 miles. There are times when I open her up naturally but I cruise around 60-70 mph and rarely on boost.
Since Monday I’ve driven like Miss Daisy resisting all open road, very painful. I’m half way between ½ and ¾’s of a tank and @ 165 miles. I could be pushing 30 mpg at this rate,

Standard 300bhp sti. steady 70 on the motorway using cruise control and sport setting gives about 33mpg. To and from work on the A roads is about 30. Best ever is 41.8 over 150 mile on the motorway, but that was behind a coach doing 65 to 70.

Not quite answering the original question, but the best ever for our MY '05 WRX PPP on V-Power is 37.93 (!) mpg -- call it 38 mpg -- and I wasn't particularly trying. Normally, if I try (which admittedly isn't all that often), it's in the 32-35 mpg range.
