Default Newage windscreen.

Anyone one here had one replaced? What was your cost and did you have any issue with the new windscreen leaking?

Had 3 in the last 5 years!! Never had any problems with the replacements. Only had one which seemed to take ages to bed in and stop creaking. Although it was replaced in january when the temp was -4

No price for mine as done through insurance, BUT ensure you get a genuine screen that has the visible VIN. I specifically asked for one and got back to my car to find (of course) a cheapo replacement screen in place with no visible VIN. I could not be arsed to re-order and book back in so left it as it is.

my bugs now on its 4th windscreen, each time replaced under insurance due to sodding stones cracking it!

One of those screens was only in there for a few weeks though as it had been manufactured with two massive greasy handprints in between the glass and the laminate, invisible on a cloudy day but blatent as anything when driving into the sun. (That was auto-windscreens). In their defence, they came out and replaced it without any quibbles, both fitters were very good and careful with the car too.

Just got mine done about a month ago. It was through my insurance so £75 excess but they use auto glass. Very good and had no problems with it. Guy said if it wasn't done through insurance it would cost around £450 quid.

Hope that helps.

Should not affect your no claims, but each insurance company is different so check with them before changing your glass.

Getting it replaced through insurance didn't affect my no claims bonus. Had it done on a few cars with different insurance companies and never effected them but I've always been fully comp.
