Why not a classic? 200kg lighter, better looking and loads of cheap parts to start modding!

Good luck with the hunt you wont regret it i picked my new car this week although be careful. . . i started of with a budget and thought bug WRX. . although ended up buying an 05 blob STi PPP!!! lol

I would, for that budget, drive a one of the last classics and a bug just to compare as you never know!!

Go on to ayrshirescoobs. There is a v6 sti for sale for £4k. Its a crackin car and well looked after and has no hidden nastie bits. Never gets used thats why the guy is sellin it. I know if i was in the market for a scoob, this is one that i would ****** up.

Check on Autotrader, Pistonheads & Gumtree. Some nice WRX's & UK spec bugs for decent money.

This car came up in a different discussion and already sold, but if I had your budget I would be after something like this rather than a bugeye.
