i recently sold my my96 engine for 700 but the lad came out and drove it from cold and it had just had new steel head gaskets, water pump and full cambelt kit.

£700 seems fair. I would leave it in the car so the customer can hear it running. A mate of mine went to buy an engine a few months back and was told it was perfect and after a 9 hour round trip after it was fitted it was fooked. So best leave it in. Otherwise some people may try it on and say it's knackerd after they fit it.
