Default 330s price and NEW STI

Guys what your take on a 330s holding its price against a new STI

if you have the choice of this forget the numbers just the options which would you do

09 330s 10k miles 550 a month 5 year term no balloon

60 plate Black STI Boot or Hatch 580 a month 6k balloon, after each term what would hold its own better. the Limited edition 330s or the new STI ?

if you want a car to holds its value only one that will is 22b, give it a while and the 330 will start to drop

I know that all cars drop even the 22b, but the question was i suppose which will drop faster.

Is the 330s a better Investment

The 22B (a good one) will be a better investment long term

Having just bought a 330s vs spending extra and getting a new STi, I worked on the principle that the biggest loss it in the first 12-18 months of a new vehicle. Therefore as the 330s has already had its initial depreciation it should hold its value better.

My tuppence worth anyway

330 would be better at holding its value sale time i'd have though, but have a look on pistonheads, see what the prices are and how much they have dropped when sold on compared to new

as far as 22b, they havn't changed in the pat 4 yers or so at least adn i can;t see them dropping in the future.

You will lose less on the 330s, as it's already had the big hit (i.e driving it off the forecourt). I do like the facelift grille and bumper of the 60 plate cars but not worth the extra.... maybe the chassis upgrade on the 60 plate cars could swing it. Test drive them both and see.

PS. don't forgot to test drive a Honda Civic Diesel too... awesome cars

Tony and co the car in question comes with BBS alloys, would you keep these or ask to have them swapped with my WRX-S GT1 in black anthracite ?

Are the BBS rims good ?

I like the BBS rims, mine has the 330s 5 spokes which are very nice and shinny. However i think i'd stick with your GT1s out of all three.

What colour are the BBS?

It's personal preference, I have the 5 spoke alloys and prefer something darker, but the bbs alloys look good on some cars and not so good on others.

If you think the GT1's will look better then get em swapped as part of your deal

Very nice, personally i prefer the silver ones. Wouldn't mind a set for mine so if you get the car and want to put your GT1s on let me know.... may get rid of my 330s wheels for them

I lost 3x cars whilst trying to decide so I sympathise.

Might consider a trade if the bbs wheels are the gun metal colour

330s must be the way to go if you are hoping to have a higher resale price as said the 330 would of lost a big chunk already were the new sti has that all to come

Looks nice... no idea how the price compares currently tho. The launch of the facelift/saloon and its £33.5k price tag may increased used values???

they want me to have the STI at 33k but the thought of a balloon after 5 years puts me off, Plus if youve seen the boot on 1 theres am hump inside it isnt just flat, so i reakon you can get more in a Hatch than that.

bang goes my dog LOL

I love the practicality of the hatch, and as you say if you have finance over 5 years the last thing you want is a balloon at the end of it. The 09 does make more sense financially... plus it looks a great spec as its the 330s.

Just nail KT Green down on the 09 price

Yeah,

my premium is basically a 330s |(minus prodrive springs), and the sat nav, Recaro's (which are superb BTW), keyless entry and push button start are all great

I'd be keeping the BBS wheels. Rare, because they're worth £3000. No way I'd be swapping them for GT1s which are worth about £1000

LittleTed: Your WRXS wheels wouldn't fit an STI as they are a different PCD. And as 73henny says....they're about £3/4k new for a set of wheels WITHOUT tyres!!!

glad i'm not the only one trying to find a car that fits what I want, but can take the dog too.

I've my heart set on the new STI - I just think it looks great - BUT, with the seats down in it, there is no real way that I can get a large dog crate in. If I leave the seats up, then its going to be dangerous with the dog there and he wont like a dog harness.

I'm exploring how I could get some kind of slide in shelf that would stop the dog falling off the seats, and provide a flat platform for him, plus webbing of some kind to act as a dog guard to stop him coming into the front seats on heavy braking.......

clearly i'm completely mad ! - but I have to cater for the dog!

Suggestions welcome - yes I suppose the hatch would be easier but i'd probably have to have the seats down, and then I have many of the same problems of the saloon anyhow...

shame that I cant get a fast legacy now to replace the spec b....
