Get a very slight slip on boost in 5th and once now in 3rd ..

Got a mate who will fit it mates rates, very good he is ..

Suggestions on the clutch and fly wheel ? assuming I need a fly wheel .. Its running at 304bhp at the moment .. so maybe safe to 350 ?

As long as its not really worn a skim will be fine, some specialist have OE ones already skimmed so you exchange yours when they fit.

Make a decision on the flywheel when you get the clutch out and can inspect the flywheel surface. A new lightweight flywheel, 4.4 kg or 6.1 kg steel is £235 and very good if you need one.
The O/E clutch often starts slipping on 2 litres around the 320 bhp mark.
An Exedy Stage 1 "Pink Box" would future proof you to around 400 bhp.

Exedy Uprated Organic would cover you to 350 and a beyond.

Anti-Judder Version is lovely and smooth to drive

If you want an uprated lightweight flywheel, we can supply them as a package with the Exedy clutch for £499. A very nice upgrade.

Free delivery on all items until Sunday too

Mate,

I am using a Organic single with uprated clamping plate.

I use my car everyday and running 450bhp on a heavy newage. Feels like the OE clutch if 5mm higher bite point on the pedal itself.

I didn't change my flywheel as it was not required.

is it an absolute neccessity that the flywheel is skimmed, is warping a common fault with subaru flywheels? if it's flat all round then can you get away with flatting it down with some 400 grit paper and then just fit the clutch?

You do not need to do anything to the flywheel if it is still in good order, not scored or blued. Do not rub it down with grit paper, complete non starter. A defective flywheel needs to be surface ground or replaced.

What makes you say not to flat the flywheel? tbh with every clutch i've ever done on numerous makes and models, i've always flatted the flywheel before fitting a new clutch and i've never had any trouble from doing it.

Do you do hard launches etc? Mine was remapped 2 years ago and the OE clutch is sill fine.

That is not what I am saying. The flywheel has to be flat. If it is not it needs to go on a surface grinder or milling machine to get a flat surface over the entire area. Are you saying you flat it by hand?

This was my old classic, it was an ex demo, so the OE clutch probably already had a hard life.

no, i dont try to get a warped flywheel flat by using flatting paper, as you say a milling tool is for that, i use it to clean the face of the flywheel that comes into contact with the friction plate and to remove any crap off the face of it.
