It won't let as much light through. I've used colour vinyl before and it worked well, you just cut out the shape and stick it on. Got mine on ebay.

It's been done many times with black spray paint so the above post is completely wrong. Yes, the light output isn't as strong, but is still plenty visible.
I personally would say, get STi rears instead - but each to their own

I would be vary wary of spraying your rear clusters, if you decrease the ammount of light produced from these you can have your car confiscated until you correct the problem, if its deemed to not be producing enough light for other road users it will suffer the above.
Best just to leave them alone
(do a search on the vosa website if I were you)

Lamin x sell vinyl that will cover them if you want red, or you can buy red spray specially for lights which is more like lacquer, cannot think who makes it off the top of my head but demon tweaks etc will sell it.

Quite good reading here also think the offence code is N115 for none maintained lights.

I edited my post to correct a spelling mistake. You must be mistaken.

Best of luck giving poor advice to unsuspecting punters who will get pulled by the police.

Look closer at my post and you will notice that the only advice i offered was to get hold of some STi rears.
What i said about spraying the lights was my opinion only but was correct where as what you wrote but have since changed was factually incorrect.....
