Default Wot are the best road tunnels in the UK?

Just wondered what are everyone favorites?

When I was in Australia I used to drive through the Perth (Northbridge) tunnel everyday in my Skyline . It is a mile long and has a decent straight. No speed cameras and the police will not put cops in with radar guns for safety reasons.

I drove through the Manchester airport tunnel the other day and it's not that great. It's where Ronaldo crashed his Ferrari.

The Tyne tunnel is pretty good if you go through late at night, has CCTV but no speed cameras.

Can't they still have you for speeding even if its just CCTV?

I always thought that if I went too fast through there the plod would be waiting at the other end for me

Not really sure, I suppose they could charge you with dangerous driving if you tried to overtake but actual speed on cctv would be difficult to prove, I think you would need some kind of properly calibrated equipment.

That said, maybe just depends if anyones watching the cctv at the time...

Be careful. They have several unmarked police cars working there. Steve.

Clyde tunnel in Glasgow is not bad if you are north of the border.
