Default Shell - Henfield

Dono if its just me or not , and not had problems here before but filled up 20 litres of V-power from Shell Henfield (Near Brighton) tonight and since been getting high knock readings , upto 44 (apexi) normaly this never over 12 or so.
All i can think is bottom of there tanks or something as didnt have problems with fuel from them mid last week, I will have to add some octaine boost and run to another shell or tesco's in the morning

thought i would share incase others go there today

Hi,

I filled up there on Sunday afternoon and the car seems ok although I don't have a knock sensor so not sure how I can tell.

Let me know if its better when you put the Tesco 99 in.

sorry forgot to reply to this, yea half a bottle of octane additive and 15 quid of tesco's momentum sorted the problem out.

I asked in there today (shell henfield) how old the fuel was in the tanks and when it had been filled and was told a couple of days ago , and that last week i would have got the "dregs" of the tank , still shouldnt have been as bad as it was

anyways problem solved.

I had a real bad batch of V power out of Shell on the A229 between Whistable and Faversham the other day. As soon as I hit the new fuel. Knock.

So the quality varies from tank to tank and occassionaly you get a real bad tank. You will only know if you are running a good knock detector.

Again Octain booster sorted the problem for me.
