air filter vs water!

Default air filter vs water!

ok just curiosity here the backing plate for my bonnet loover over the air filter has been removed obvioisly so air can get to the filter easier but when it rains water must drench the filter is this bad or what?

not really if the standard airbox is on, filter sealed inside. If its a cone filter then yes it will, long as its treated should be ok, thats wat i found with mine before i put the standard airbox back on

its a cone filter yes so will feel the full whack of nature so i take it thats not a good thing then?

Not a good idea to get water sucked into the engine in any amount. Water in it's liquid form cannot be compressed, so if it DID get into the cylinders, you'd wreck your engine

its actually my mate that was telling me his car was a bit sluggish when it was raining as he has what i mentioned my car is in the garage after only one day of buying it so im not sure if my car has the loover back removed but if it has i can assure you i will soon block it off

Not to mention if the water gets on those turbo blades,not nice!!!
