Default Clutch release bearing

I have recently took my engine out of my scooby but when i was taking it out i stuggled to get it separated from the gearbox. Like a **** i didnt relise that i had to take the pin out of the clutch arm so it would slide out of the release bearing to separate it. Before i took the clutch arm out i was pulling at the engine quite a bit to separate it. The bearing seems to have a little play in it as it will slide in and out a bit, is this normal or do you think the bearing in knackered. I would appreciate any advice on this many thanks, leo

Best bet is to fit a new one while it`s apart, you don`t want to put it back together and find out it`s had it.

dont forget to change the spigot bearing found on the flywheel, you can get them for under £10 on ebay.
