The camera is a Sony DV camcorder DCR/TRV20E
It has an DV I link. I take it I need to buy this - How much and wheres the cheapest place to get it. What software do I then need?
Thank you very much for any help as I know some of you know how to do this
Cheers

Martin,
you will need a lead, a PC or Mac that has a DV (Firewire?) input, software to process it (which could be expensive) and a converter to produce MPEG or AVI (or MOV or REAL) files which can be viewed on the Internet. Did the camera come with any info?
More to the point, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE TRV20???
I _very_ nearly bought one on Friday at the Sony centre in the Manchester Trafford Centre - a bargain at only GBP999 (list is more like GBP1500!!!).

If you have a Mac then you can get a iDV to firewire cable, I dont think they are much, contact AllanB from here, he could source you one I am sure. Then using iMovie you can do what you need, that comes free with new machines but can be obtained fairly easily .
Problems here are that movies end up being very big.
...but I doubt you have a mac...
