Default What is the max power?

Afternoon all just looking for some figures on what is the max power you can run on a 2 litre classic with a standard gearbox and standard internals, just want to get the max power I can without changing the gearbox, and in order to get the max out of the car what supporting mods would you all suggest I have, car is used as my weekend runaround and the odd trip to work. Just looking for some advice please as I need help from people who are in the know before I do anything.

What car is it as they vary slightly with model years, but normally you would look at no more than 350bhp if not slightly less for reliability, and then you would need supporting modifcations to go with that.

As Tony says, more info is needed on model/YR and no more than 350bhp max on original 5 speed box. 330bhp max is prob a safer bet.

Front mount, turbo, remap, injectors, clutch, big brake upgrade, uprated engine piping, full decat exhaust (3 inch pref), then also look at the suspension setup (though these are not too bad as standard).
If you want 350+, look at a gearbox, forged engine etc, it gets stupidly expensive and your better off buying a new age STI.
How much do you have to spend?

Are you running 300bhp on the standard TD04 turbo? if so thought they were safe for 285bhp.

I have the same car as you. When i bought it, it had 340bhp,

Engine mods at that time where:

TD05 16g turbo
550cc injectors
Sti 8 Tmic
Walbro fuel pump
Exedy clutch
AFP Remap.

Engine wise this is all you need, but as the guys above have said, you should have suspension and brake upgrades to suit the power.

Vf34 turbo,k&n cone filter, uprated fuel pump, ngk 7's,ap racing clutch,e-boost boost controller, sports cat downpipe 2.5 straight through exhaust de-cat from the knuckle back, ebc grooved and dimpled discs.

I was thinking of getting a front mount, injectors (not sure which ones to get size etc) ported and wrapped headers with matching up-pipe, then a re-map if I get these what bhp should I except to achive?

You need the same size injectors as Biggs, the 34 is a very good turbo, still think your brakes need more umph than just discs and pads, probably more like decent 4 pots, clutch is good exhaust "should" be ok but may be a little restrictive (you need to ask your mapper), K&N cone isnt recommended due to maf issues (through contamination and vibration), that may make your outcome a little more expensive if you want to go mafless instead (simtek ecu for example), there are lots of options for you, speak with a mapper and see which best suit you and where you want to go.
