its a bit overkill for the car at the moment but i got it discounted, as you say it's a pity you cant see it, maybe some one will make a see through gearbox one day!
car is a PPP but still probably not doing clutch justice, hopefully the rest of the car will catch up soon!

for what they cost you should be able to race backwards with it.
garage told me that they had removed 2 recently due to poor daily drivability!
picking up tomorrow so all will be revealed....
ps. what do you think i'll get for a nearly new carbon clutch??? joking (i hope)

my mate is involved in various subaru racing and it was 'going spare' believe it or not! ideally could have done with something less aggressive but thats what they use.
could have sold it but that would have gone against the spirit it was sold in if you know what i mean.
am slowly collecting parts for next months visit to the garage (sti injectors & TMIC, decat, remap etc) and godspeed discs went on today so might make the clutch sweat one day!

I found mine to feel pretty much like a normal clutch, easy to drive day to day in traffic etc. Biting point is fairly normal and it's possible to "ride" the clutch for hills starts and such. Once fully engaged though mine did not slip at all. They do sound crap however, people will think your cars knackered when your sat at the lights in gear with your foot on the clutch. Had to take mine off as the intermediate plate expanded and wedged against the dowels on the flywheel. The garage that took it off said it was fitted incorrectly.
As for bedding in, Exedy say to give it a few good high rpm slips without letting it get too hot and thats about it.
Edit: For people wanting to know cost, I think they're around £1500-1600 at the moment. I bought mine years ago when the exchange rate was probably alot better, cost me £1100 including delivery from Japan. I doubt you'd save any money by importing one now.

Had heard that the biggest problem was garages with no experience of the clutch fitting it incorrectly. They put blue ink on the parts to help with fitting so if your mechanic looks like he's voted 10 times in Iraq you're in trouble!
Thanks for advice mate.

Picked up car and clutch drives like OEM, slightly heavier but it's marginal, had to come through stop/start of 5pm town and absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. Makes a great noise when sat at the lights!
Apparently it can handle 560 ft/lb
anyway, godspeed discs all round went on and destroyed mintex 1144's (after 1 day at oulton) came off and 1166's went on front-bit squeaky but far better so far and they were cold.
Feels really good to have started upgrades! Ha

My last clutch handled 760lbs but I decided to swap it for a tripple plate cabonetics clutch! I know my new clutch is good enough for what I want? but then I really need a tripple plate carbon clutch For your money bargain or not I would rather spend the cash on a gearbox that would cope with the power you hope your clutch may meet! Unless that clutch was £500 it was the most expensive mod you will waste cash on that you don't need

Everything you said was 100% right mate, would not have been first upgrade choice was just a right place right time thing and a couple mates being very kind to a newbie and taking the pi$$ in their own way!
