Help me find a nice Classic please
After my car was written off after 5 years of loving ownership whilst I was 50 miles away I need another one .. The 2l diesel I'm driving is killing me ..
I'm after a nice classic for less than 5k ..
Does anyone have any sites ? other than piston, Auto and eBay ?
Ideally I want it to be around 300bhp .. as my classic was 280 ..
Anyone ?

To let you know. Paid £4000 for my green 1999 classic, 100% completely stock with 62,000 miles on the clock. Bodywork was in good condition. Effectively that was 3300 due to Ibiza trade in.

It was a great looking car you had before some idiot crashed into you
The green and gold worked so well together
Exactly the same as my wagon with those wheels
Mine is bubblewrapped in it's carpetted garage and it would brake my heart if anything happened to it
Can anyone help me
What was the make / modle of those wheels as I can't remember as mine are 8 years old now??
Good luck with your search and check the rear arch just under the petrol cap for any bubbling

i would try to wip the ecu off your old one if you have paid the licence for it and are getting the same model again.
save you quite a bit when it comes to mapping and it's not as if they will be driving it anywhere.
sorry to hear about it getting smashed up like that but at least there are so many about at a good price at the moment you should find something at least as good as you had.
silver one above looks nice enough

Just a thought..
Would it be worth buying just a rolling shell and your car back and then shifting all the bits over?
It will mean you keep the good bits, have an engine etc that you know the history of and will mean that the old car is still living on....

Bad luck with your old one mate!
I know from my experience that finding the "right" classic is getting very hard with low miles and owners.........i bought my first 4 years ago (1 owner,a/c fsh and 52k) and sold it to a mate as a Bobeye STI took my fancy, anyway, mate trashed the classic and the blob was a bit disappointing!
Ever since i have looked every time i sold a car to find another nice one but never could until about a month ago,so while it's never been a full on serious search each time,it still took the best part of 3 years off and on to find the right one.
Anyway,if my experience is anything to go by,your budget and some patience will certainly get another.
My car is 2001,X reg,UK model,1 owner,FSH,50k,A/C,and been modified gradually over the years by the last owner with a full exhaust,Ecutek etc and wasn't far from your budget.
