The driving population are a soft target for the government and a variety of pressure groups.
We pay phenomenal taxes, getting little in return and have draconian legislation applied in the form badly thought out laws such as the proposed new penalties for minor speeding offences or the banning of radar detectors.
I believe that safety on the roads is of paramount importance but the way the government are going about seems really ill thought out.
When will somthing be done about dangerous drivers, those who tailgate, don't indicate, have diabolical lane discipline, drive whilst using mobiles, drive too fast for the conditions (eg snow), race through town centers and past schools where there are unlikely to be any speed cameras, drive with poor vision and a whole host of others which regulary appear on this site.
If this makes your blood boil then read this as it may give us a chance.

NigeK,
i have now been an ABD member for just over a month. The club magazine, whilst not up to the glossy standard or True Grip, contains articles that make your blood vapourise, never mind boil.
I have updated my profile "Interests" to include the fact that i am an ABD member - can i suggest that others ABD members do likewise?

Just joined, makes for interesting reading........
While I agree (totally and wholeheartedly) with almost all that they are opposed to, I am not so sure about their objections to these
quote:
Restricted access to national parks
Restricted access to urban areas

Guess I should wait for the membership stuff to arrive before I make an uninformed decision

With over 5000 members we should be able to increase their membership and their power to fight the bureaucrats.
