Hello there,

I've bought a 97 JDM WRX which i'm picking up on monday, and from what I can gather it has the same bhp as a uk sti?

Then when I looked on scoobypedias model list, the jdm 97 wrx saloon was listed as a WRX STI?

could someone possibly clear this up for me?

There is no such thing as a 97 UK STi, a WRX is a WRX and a STi is an STi.

Any pics? what does the code on the vin plate say?
Pretty hard to guess what your car is tbh, is this a face lift or not as some 97 cars are actually a 98 model year, mainly you can tell by the interior, newer = better

sorry don't have any pics atm, but also a bit difficult to tell what the front end was, as its had a 99-00 front bumper/bonnet/grill fitted.

But the car is definitely a 97 jap wrx with 276bhp, but i think i kind of asked the question a bit wrong - thanks for clearing up that there is no uk sti's.

So... if the later wrx's are running 276bhp and the sti's are running exactly the same, then what is the difference between the two?
